OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

To undertake or to assist with the production of 2D and 3D general arrangement and detail electrical drawings.

JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • To produce electrical drawings required by the Company in a timely manner. Drawings will typically include GA’s, control schematics, cable block diagrams, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable routing and equipment layouts, instrument loop diagrams, hook up diagrams and cable schedules
  • Creation of Bills of Materials.
  • Close liaison with Electrical Engineering team members.
  • Close liaison with Electrical Installation team members.
  • Close liaison with the Company’s Mechanical Drawing Office.
  • Adhere to relevant customer specifications.
  • Achieve or improve the deadlines established for each project.
  • Register and issue drawings in line with the company standards.
  • Ensure all draughting is carried out in accordance with the relevant British Standards and the current company standard.
  • Attendance at internal meetings, visits to site and to client as required.
  • Use measuring equipment to accurately record survey data.
  • Check own work and that of others as necessary to ensure accuracy of content and eliminate errors.
  • Any other duties as may be required from time to time.


EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential

  • Qualified to HNC standard or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Electrical Engineering qualification.


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Essential

  • Competent user of AutoCAD Electrical. 
  • Competent user of Autodesk Vault Document Management System.
  • Ability to communicate technically.
  • A minimum of one year AutoCAD Electrical/Autodesk Vault experience in an industrial engineering environment.   


SKILLS:
Essential

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Analytical.
  • IT literate.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Numerate and logical.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Teamworking.


OTHER:
Essential

  • Out of hours, on-site in the UK and overseas working may be necessary for short periods in order to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
