NG have a goal to reduce emissions across their fleet, driven by the Industrial Emissions directive. Aylesbury Compressor station was selected to carry out a research and development project to install emission reduction technology on their x2 Avon DLE (Dry, Low, Emission) units.

 

Problem

 

The RR AVON DLE engine is a rare engine with the 2 NG units being the only unit of that type in the UK. A bespoke installation would be required. Cullum Offered CO Oxidation Catalyst Technology which is only suitable for DLE applications.

Cullum supplied the following equipment:

 

  • Complete new bespoke Combustion Exhaust Stack, retrofitted into Existing Gas Turbine Package
  • Platinum CO Catalyst system
  • Supporting steelwork and personnel access
  • Monitoring equipment CEMS, pressure differential and Exhaust Temperature
